For over 25 years, People for Pets has been serving pets and families of our local Tracy area. We love caring for and connecting with animals and creating everlasting relationships.

Holding strong with 25+ years PEOPLE FOR PETS is the longest existing non profit pet adoption organization in Tracy. We are all committed and compassionate, non-paid volunteers. We take in homeless dogs and make sure they are current on all vaccines, micro-chipped and spayed or neutered & then find them new FUR-ever loving homes. You can help support us in two ways. Niels is a male German Shepherd mixed young dog born August 8th 2023. He's super sweet, really cute and lots of fun, he is crate trained, & potty trained. Niels enjoys playing with other dogs, loves to snuggle with his humans, and has been exposed to cats. Niels is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccines.

Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and help more homeless dogs & cats find loving, FUR-ever homes. Your generous donation will fund our mission to take in homeless dogs, make sure they get spayed or neutered, are micro-chipped, and receive all current vaccines. All the while they will be fed, cared for and kept comfortable in all climates of weather by our foster families until their FUR-ever homes are found.

Saved from Tracy Animal Shelter shortly before being put to sleep. After after being seen by our vet to make sure Shelby was completely healthy, she was adopted and t to live in Sacramento with her new loving people.
Dumped in Merced just off the freeway Rinny waited days for her people to return. A kind soul at a near-by business spent hours waiting patiently to rescue & save Rinny. Finally, Rinny gave up on waiting for her previous people to return and luckily but this kind person save her.
Taken in as a stray by Tracy Animal Shelter Princess was nervous and scared. We saved her just before it was her time to be put to sleep. She's very sweet lady and we found her a wonderful, loving home.
Released to People for Pets due to her owner being homeless and and no longer able to care for her P-Nuckle needed to be taken to the vet and brought current on her vaccines. This sweet little girl was lovingly adopted by a wonderful family right here in Tracy.
Asked by her previous owner if we could help find Faith a new home because her owner was undergoing brain tumor surgery. People for Pets was able to step in and assist this sweet doggie in finding a new beautiful family to live with.
A young sweet German Shepherd mix who could no longer be kept by the family who took her on Bella was placed with a new loving family with responsible kids to care for her, camping and hiking in her future and lots of attention and training.
Found us as a stray on the streets of Stockton and nearly hit by a car, Little Richie was brought to us to care for and find a loving home. After getting neutered and receiving his shots Little Richie got a lucky home in San Francisco where someone is home with him all the time.
One of the sweetest dogs that we have been able to help, Joey was sitting in the Stockton County Animal Shelter for way too long. Needing surgery for his torn ACL, People for Pets took care of this boy's needs. Joey now resides in a beautiful home with a very loving family n Yuba City
Skinny, scared and left to die in a shelter, Patsy was rescued by one of our volunteers and got a complete makeover in life. After months of rehabilitation and being brought back to life from near death, Patsy was spayed and fully vetted and placed with a loving, caring family in a nearby town.
With matted hair and in dire need of a professional grooming little Grace was adopted by a wonderful family in Livermore. Thank you for saving Grace.
Baby Girl was so tiny she was almost hit by a car and nobody would have ever known. She certainly would have known and thank you to her rescuers she survived a busy street in Stockton. After nursing Baby Girl back to health and taking care of her vet bills, we found her a beautiful loving family right here in Tracy.
Raymond was found wandering a country road as if he had just made his way out of a bag somebody apparently had disposed of him in. He is such a cute little dog, it's incredible what people will do. After rehabilitating Raymond and assuring him life would be wonderful from that point on he was adopted by a very loving lady and never looked back on his horrible past.
Dumped out on the streets of the little town of Banta, Slash was brought to safety by a lady not able to keep him. Quickly accepted by a new foster family, Slash never made it to our advertisement page because his foster family failed at fostering and became his permanent loving, FUR-ever home.
Shamy was turned over to people for pets because he was not getting along with the children in the home. Given the name Shameless, we quickly altered it to Shamy and this darling boy started his new life. Adopted by a kind-hearted and lovely lady, Shamy happily rules the roost.
Found as a stray and left to die at the shelter Earl was saved by one of our fosters who saw a beautiful soul inside this sweet little dog. Although Earl had a cute little skip in his walk, it didn't seem to bother him at all and he is a very happy boy to now have a loving home of his very own.
Overlook at in the shelter by many, all Bixby really wanted was someone to love her and to be all hers. Full of energy and spunk Bixby was about to be euthanized when People for Pets rescued her. After 6 months of rehabilitation, she was adopted buy a loving family with two daughters who adore her. Thank you for choosing to adopt and for saving Bixby's life.
Scared and shivering in a kennel in a shelter & having to fend for herself with many others in her same space Willa was pulled to safety by one of People for Pets' gentle & kind-hearted fosters. After showing Willa love and taking care of her health needs, she was adopted by a family who adore her so much they can't imagine being without her today.
Making the very difficult decision that Ellie needed a new home, her previous owners contacted People for Pets & we were able to intervene and then matched sweet Ellie with a beautiful couple in a near-by town.
Toby is a tan terrier mix who was adopted by a lady living in San Leandro and he acquired a new brother who is a rabbit.
Tag came to us as a small kitten meowing outside one of our Foster's window late one night. Such a brave little kitty and so loving he would rather be with people than eat chicken. Tag was our only kitty adoption this year.
Found running down a country street frightened by fireworks and full of stickers and matted hair he had To be shaved. Marty found a loving home with a couple in Hayward who had a female Great Pyrenees that became Marty's new sister.
Sammy who was a Miniature Pinscher mix happened to end up living permanently with his foster mom. We call this a foster failure, but there's nothing failing about it as everybody ended up in a happy home.
Norman, previously named ookie, was surrender to our rescue due to an elderly grandparent unable to care for a puppy. Cookie was adopted by a lovely family locally in Tracy who have given him a wonderful home and renamed him Norman
Needing to be re-homed because she no longer fit in with all the small dogs of a blended family, Nala found her forever family through People for Pets. Nala now lives in Oakland with a family and a young girl of her very own to take her on walks and cuddle whenever she wants.
Daisy May who was about to be destroyed due to the fact that she was just a little "throw away" dog was rescued by our organization, rehabilitated then was adopted and taken to live in San Francisco with a loving family.
Tugboat, a calm and loving older German Shepherd who was no longer able to be cared for by his homeless person, was turned over to us to re-home. After a couple of months stay with one of our fosters, he was adopted by an adoring, loving couple who gave Tugboat the home he had so long desired, waited for, nd deserved.
A lovely senior girl, a Bloodhound Labrador mix came to us as an owner surrender. Molly just needed some new life with enthusiasm and purpose. It didn't take her long to find a loving home with a young man who changed her life. She's now a San Franciscan resident and gets to go to work with her new dad everyday.
Kona was doomed for death when People for Pets stepped in and rescued her from the Tracy Animal Shelter. A lovely red doberman mix, Kona found a loving home with an adoring couple in Tracy. Kona definitely got the home she deserved and her happily ever after.
After fending for herself and stuck in a kennel with up to 7 other little dogs, Goldie found her way into one of our foster's hearts and was rescued. Goldie was happily adopted by a loving family and is now a resident of Hayward, CA.
Surrendered to our rescue because they could no longer afford to keep a dog with a new baby on the way, Princess quickly found true love in a new home & family who truly treat her like a Princess. A fairy tale ending for all, Happy Tails to you Miss Princess.
With no exposure to the outside world and locked in a kennel left to die Monte was rescued by People for Pets from a local animal shelter. With luck on on Monte's side, he was spotted by an adoring couple from Cupertino and off he went to live a life of luxury at a golf course residents. Happy Tails Monte.

Tank became "Rogan" shortly after getting his Freedom ride out of the Tracy Animal Shelter. All the way from the eastern part of Canada his new parents came to take this boy home. Thank you for rescuing Darko & Sylvia. Merry Christmas Rogan.

Left to die in an animal shelter, Tippy had a massive hernia and needed dental care. People for Pets stepped in & saved her from certain death. Thank you John & family for giving this girl a warm & loving home.
Unique and incomparable to all others Anna could not get him out of her mind. After being adopted into a home for the short 4 years of Gator's life, a necessary move put him up for re-homing again. In a home with too many dogs and a new human baby to care for, Nala packed her bags and set out to find a new home. People for pets was there to take Nala in, get her the vet care she needed and then placed her in a perfect and patient home. Thank you Marian for your loving touch to this pretty girl's life.
Left to find homes on their own, P4P scooped up these 3 darling babies. Fed, nourished, and taken to the vet, the babies were then adoptable to loving homes. Thank you Ben & Lauren, Collie, & Claudia for giving these pups wonderful homes of their very own.
Given up due to the inability to financially care for this sweetie pie, P4P agreed to take her in & care for her. After medicating for skin issues, getting her spayed, micro-chipped & current on shots, Roxy was finally healthy & ready for her new home. Thank you Elizabeth for choosing to adopt Roxy.
After 8 years Taffy needed a new home due to a move, and she came to P4P for help. As sweet as they come, Taffy was eligible for adoption after being spayed & brought current on vaccines. Thankful to John in Manteca, Taffy has a brother that looks like her & she is living a wonderful life.
Angel was saved by P4P when she was found homeless, dirty, skinny and roaming the streets in the eastern countryside of Tracy. We were so happy to be able to help this beauty. After getting her spayed, cared for by our vet, and giving her consistent, healthy meals she was welcomed to her new home in Tracy by Valerie & Chuck.
Scared, skinny, and unhealthy People for Pets was Trixie's savior. Swooped to safety from Stockton Animal shelter and nursed to health, Trixie and Glenda came face to face at PetSmart in Tracy and it was true love for ever after. Thank you Glenda for choosing to rescue!
After being saved by People for pets and taken to the vet for current inoculations and a micro-chip Pecos Bill was scooped up and adopted by Susan from Lathrop. Thank you for choosing to rescue Susan.
Only with People for Pets long enough to get spayed, micro-chipped and current shots, Abby was quickly adopted by Eliza and her family from San Francisco. We love that you choose to adopt Eliza. Thank you!
